1.06am – January 26 – and instead of enjoying yet another amazing date with my beautiful amazing then-girlfriend Leah… instead of enjoying that, I totally unexpectedly was hit by a MASSIVE HEART ATTACK… and collapsed to the floor of my kitchen head first… just a few minutes after I (I live alone) had called 911 as I was feeling horrible the whole evening…

I woke up the next day in Duke’s ICU… with my little sunshine Stephanie (my son Jeremy was at that time in Australia), with Leah, and with my best friend Souheil… having NO IDEA what had happened to me… and feeling the weakest I had ever felt in my life…

This was going to be the beginning of many months of endless fears, surgeries, and a whole new life and perspective on everything… all after dying for 6 very VERY LONG minutes (just a couple of more minutes and either my brain would be fried… or the EMS would have not tried resuscitating me…  Saying that I was “lucky” would be the biggest understatement of my entire life…

The very beginning of my … “second life” … SOOO deeply grateful for it all… and for all the people in my life, in my heart and in my days, who made it all possible… and of course also all the amazing medical professionals, nurses, doctors and EMS who all saved and sustained my life…

With much much LOVE to all of YOU 💗 and hoping that, unlike little me, you will NEVER EVER get through any of that… for… let’s not lie here… it was NOT fun! lol 😉
