” Photography 101″ – Pascal’s PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT

a little “ PHOTOGRAPHY 101 – LEARN how to SHOOT like Pascal! ” 🙂 information to share with YOU ❤ 

Many of oy online followers have frequently asked me this particular question over the past many months… “ Pascal, what are your FAVORITE LENSES to shoot with?… ”

….and so I thought that I would today share a little thoughts about that with all of you who are into photography❤

And… it might very well surprise you much to learn that… 95% of ALL THE PHOTOS that I take (and the very small sampling of them that you have seen me publish/share over the years)… are all taken with 1 SINGLE and SAME LENS!!!… and it is my f/1.4 – 50mm FIXED lens! That’s it!!!!…

And by the way, and without getting into a longggg conversation (except if doing so one day would be helpful to some of you? …and if it is please email me and I will do a blog about it), as an added major bonus, this AMAZINGGGGG lens is also incredibly LIGHT (especially when compared to bigger lenses or zooms) and that allows me to shoot for very MANY HOURS in a row, as I often do for my very wide range of clients, all without hurting my neck or arms (especially in my case where I have had a major spinal fusion + 26 screws in my face + ½ of my heart is not working anymore – so ANYTHING that makes things “easier” on my body is important and precious <3 ).
And if you use it to shoot around f/1.8 or 2 or so in aperture you WILL make EVERYTHING and EVERYONE who you shoot look AMAZINGGGGGGLY BEAUTIFUL, from the shallow depth of field that will instantly create that gorgeous “PROFESSIONAL” look to anything and everything you shoot ! <3
I really could not recommend this lens more! (and btw I only own 2 other lenses that I use only for very exceptional situations – architectural or others – or as back up in case I broke my 50mm on a shoot).
So this 50mm is the ONE lens that I shoot pretty much EVERYTHINGGGGG with <3 ….from HEADSHOTS to PORTRAITS to GROUP PORTRAITS to PRODUCTS to BABIES to CHILDREN to PREGNANCY to FOOD to FAMILY PORTRAITS etc etc etc…. pretty much EVERYTHING!!!! <3
And btw that particular lens has probably shot over ½ a MILLION Photos for me <3 I am truly soooo grateful for it <3
If you give it a try and are into photography, or are getting started, it will blow your mind <3
Whenever I have occasionally given private LESSONS to TEACH photography to students (from all ages btw, from 8 being my youngest and 89 my oldest student <3 ) , I always have had them purchase that one lens and they all learned how to create amazing photos with it! <3 soooooo satisfying <3

ps1: btw guess what lens I bought for each of my children, Jeremy and Stephanie, when, at some stage of their teenage years they expressed an interest for learning about Photography… one 50mm. lens, f1.4, for each of them OF COURSE! 🙂 and they both have lovedddddd using them ever since!

So in case that you would happen to be on a BUDGET, you could ALSO consider this other lens whose APERTURE is just a little HIGHER than the previous one, but which you can still use to create AMAZING SHOTS… just with a slightly less SHALLOW “depth of field”… and will save you $200 or so… but, IF you can afford it AND you are purchasing your lens for the long term, then go for the 1.4 🙂 from my previous post

oh!… and last information that I thought that I should share with you about the Photography Equipment that I use daily, and that many of you just emailed me to ask about and which is ” Which CAMERAS/BODY do you actually use to Shoot your clients?… ”
 
Well! here we go … the 2 only CAMERA “BODY” that I use, mostly set with my 50mm lens, are the following that I listed here under… and I absolutely love them both equally! <3
 
And btw, one of them is always a “BACK UP” to the other and as, course, I just never know when one of them will fail on me, and as a professional Photographer I simply cannot take any chance of one of my Photo Shoots for one of my client to suddenly stop… “just because my camera broke down!”.
I need to be 100% RELIABLE to do the work for my clients, at any given time… therefore… 2 BODIES at all times! <3
